Hello Everyone!
I hope you all are safe and healthy. I know it can be boring have to stay inside all this time. If you have not joined our 8th grade meetings yet, you need to do so. Some of your teachers will be with me on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2PM online.

So all you need to do is go to zoom.us and at the top right click on "join the meeting" using the code 242-012-5275. The meeting will be recorded. You must use your real name and NOT a nickname.
Things to do when you are in our Zoom meeting:
1. Mute your microphone on your computer or phone.
2. If you have a question to ask - go to the chat at the bottom of the screen and raise your hand or type your question.
3. NO INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE WILL BE ALLOWED! You are still a student of Cobb County and the rules still apply when using technology.

Feeding Students while School is Closed:
To continue to support Cobb students while schools are closed, the Cobb County School District is pleased to announce that the District is extending its partnership with MUST Ministries to provide food to our students in need. The District and non-profit have built a long-term solution to provide students with a 5-day supply of breakfasts and lunches at 8 school locations on Mondays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first day of the meal distributions was Monday, March 23.
Breakfast and Lunch School Distribution Locations on Mondays 11 am – 1 pm:

Bryant Elementary
Campbell HS
Compton Elementary
East Cobb Middle
Garrett Middle
Osborne High
Riverside Intermediate
Food Distribution will continue during the week of Spring Break.

Attendance and Grading during Digital Learning
Based on the recommendation from the Georgia Department of Educations, Cobb Schools has issued the following guidance regarding digital learning days:
All students will be considered present (no students should be marked absent) and
No permanent grades should be posted while Cobb Schools are closed. Ongoing feedback, monitoring, and assessment of student progress is encouraged and can be used once Cobb Schools are re-opened and have been provided for all students.
This guidance is consistent with the approach that Georgia Superintendent Richards Woods is taking with mandated state testing and accountability requirements. See today’s GaDOE press release for detailed information. As mentioned in the release, the GaDOE has suspended the following until further notice:

MONDAY: MENTAL HEALTH DAY!
· Practice deep breathing to calm and clear the mind. Deep breathing is one of the best ways to lower stress in the body. This is because when you breathe deeply, it sends a message to your brain to calm down and relax. The brain then sends this message to your body. ... · Take a minute for gratitude. Write down 5 to 10 things that you are grateful for as gratitude improves physical and psychological health, enhances empathy and reduces aggression. Also, grateful people are happier and sleep better!
TUESDAY: POSITIVE FRIENDS DAY!
· Text 5 friends to ask them how they are doing and to thank them for being a positive person in your life.
· Challenge friends to an online game such as battleship or words with friends.
· Follow CCSD_SOS and tag 3 friends
WEDNESDAY: GENEROSITY DAY!
· Help a sibling or family member with homework.
· Offer to take out an elderly person’s trash or walk their dog
· Give 10 genuine compliments today to help brighten the day of others
THURSDAY: SPIRITUALITY DAY!
· Take a silent walk outside. Take a mental note of things you see, hear, smell and feel.
· Create a playlist of uplifting music that you can listen when you are feeling stressed or down.
· Pray or meditate.

· Get your heart rate up by doing 100 jumping jacks and 25 burpees.
· Get in touch with your artistic side by painting, drawing or playing an instrument.
